In December 2025, it completed a transaction of 1 million green electricity certificates with Tarim Oilfield, corresponding to 1 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity. This achieved the replacement of 300,000 tons of standard coal and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 540,000 tons. It established a collaborative mechanism of "upstream green electricity production + downstream green certificate consumption," and improved its carbon asset development and trading system based on the group's photovoltaic and Shagohuang new energy bases. This practice has been listed as a typical case of China National Petroleum Corporation's (CNPC) collaborative development of new energy, becoming an important symbol of the company's transformation from traditional refining and chemical processing to green and low-carbon development.
